Visit to Gerry Lane Hummer

Here I am with my Hummer H1 loaner from Gerry Lane Hummer in Baton Rouge. We were due for an oil change (free for as long as you own your vehicle) on our H2 and Barry was able to take advantage of the sale prices at the mall. He insisted I drive and I fell a bit in love with this new Alpha model H1. It has the duramax diesel engine and is much quieter and more powerful than previous models. The interior is improved as well and it is so much fun to drive. I enjoyed every minute and wished I had a ranch in New Mexico where such a vehicle makes a lot more sense. Gerry Lane has a new showroom off I-10 and it is a must-see if you're in the area. I've been in this truck over the obstacle course and it is the most fun you can have going slow. The staff at Gerry Lane are amazing and I can't recommend them highly enough if you're in the market for a Hummer H1, H2 or the new H3 (made in Shreveport, LA) which they say are selling extremely well.

Leg Work Out and Master's Nationals

Today was made really great by a terrific leg workout with my training partner and husband, Barry. We squatted, supersetted extensions with adductor work and finished with seated leg curls. Calves were done with extended and bent leg exercises. We get the best results using moderate weight and high reps (at least 30) for calves with lots of stretching in between sets.

I'm training and dieting for the Master's Nationals in Pittsburgh, July 23rd. This contest has become a pro-qualifier for the women's bodybuilding and
figure division winners for the first time this year. My contest prep is going very well and I'll be adding lots of details about this in the coming weeks. The photo was taken last Saturday along with several others you can view on my web site.

Welcome

Welcome to my journal. This is the place where you can keep up to date on all the occasions and events in my life. I'll be writing about my own bodybuilding contest preparation as well as notes about the athletes I'm working with. I'll be sharing my thoughts on and pictures of the contests I attend as an NPC judge for the state of Louisiana as well as the competitions I attend as a spectator and/or "Coach". I hope you enjoy reading about my world and that I can help to inspire you toward achieving your personal fitness goals.
